PIAZZAS (SQUARES) AND FOUNTAINS
Boca Raton, Florida
Approaching "il Vittoroni" monument and the Altar to the Nation building
The three fountains, fed by the Aqua Virgo aqueduct are the main decorative elements of the piazza
Piazza del Campidoglio
I loved this building
The building where Benito Mussolini stood from the window and shouted to his people in the square
il Vittoriano, a monument which was begun in 1885 and inaugurated in 1911 in honour of Victor Emmanuel II of Savoy
There is not a square (Piazza) in Rome without a fountain
In the renowned Italian film "La Dolce Vita" , on a quiet night an alluring Anita Ekberg jumps into Trevi Fountain
The palace in the background blends perfectly with the composition of the fountain
Trevi Fountain is a fantastic work of art that is much more than a mere sculpture
There is a tradition regarding Trevi Fountain. If you throw a coin over your shoulder into the water you will be sure to return to Rome.
Night view of Santa Maria in Trastevere (the basic floor plan and wall structure of the church date back to the 340s AD)
